Don’t leave Prague without tasting the famous Czech starters, aka beer snacks! We take you to a little known place in Old Town for a sampling of the best, washed down with a brew (or wine/soft drink).
Main Course
We move on to a more traditional Czech restaurant. It’s tough to know what to choose on a foreign menu, so here you enjoy a platter of the most famous traditional main dishes.
Dessert
You may not think ‘sweet’ when you think of Czech cuisine, but here we prove you wrong with a visit to a wonderful Czech bakery for some delicious pastries to polish off the tour!
Included in price: drink with each course

Meeting Point
This tour includes the equivalent of a full 3-course meal with drinks. You’ll taste a variety of Czech dishes (a minimum of 6!) across three different stops. Beer, wine or a soft drink is included at the first two stops, and coffee is served with dessert. None of our guests leave hungry — that’s a promise.
Our Prague food tour lasts approximately 3 hours, starting at 2:45 PM and finishing around 5:45 PM. You’ll visit three restaurants during this time, enjoying a full meal and plenty of stories along the way. Want a different start time? We’re happy to arrange a private food tour to suit your schedule.
Vegetarians are welcome on our tours, please just let us know in advance so that we can coordinate with the restaurants. Unfortunately, the food tour cannot accommodate vegan or gluten-free guests, as we visit typical Czech restaurants and our options are limited to what they offer.
We recommend booking at least a day in advance, however we accept bookings up to 12 midday on the day of the tour – depending on availability!
This is a Prague food tour, so of course! Our first stop is known locally as one of the best craft beer places in town, so your guide will recommend the best for you to try. At the second stop, you’ll enjoy a glass of one of the Czech Republic’s most famous lagers. Finally, a coffee at the final destination. If beer’s not your thing, wine or non-alcoholic drinks are always available.
Families are very welcome on the tour. Please note that the drinking age in the Czech Republic is 18, so anyone younger can enjoy a non-alcoholic beverage!
Prague’s Old Town is the best place when it comes to food in the beautiful capital city – you just need to know where to go! While the area is full of charm, it can also be packed with tourist traps. One of the reasons why ours is the best food tour in the city (yes, we’re claiming it!) is that we steer you away from any tourist hotbeds. Our tour focuses on hidden gems and local-loved spots that would be tough to find on your own. You’ll skip the overpriced menus and walk away not only full, but with a real understanding of Czech food, culture, and where to eat next.
Absolutely. Our food tour isn’t just about eating (though the food is fantastic!) — it’s also a deep dive into Czech culture and history. Every one of our guides is a certified Prague tour guide with a passion for storytelling, history, and connecting the past to what’s on your plate. At school, it might have been frowned upon to enjoy a three-course meal during history class — but on this tour, we highly encourage it.
€74 per person. That includes three courses, three drinks, and a guided cultural experience through the heart of Prague’s food scene. Some say the guide’s wisdom is priceless — but we’re happy to bundle it in.
This tour is suitable for strollers. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate the majority of wheelchairs. Many of the establishments in the Old Town have steps for entering and exiting.
This tour is dog-friendly, as most Czech establishments are happy to welcome dogs.
Absolutely. You’ll eat the equivalent of a generous 3-course Czech meal (plus drinks). At the first stop, you get to try a selection of Czech starters, aka beer snacks. At the second stop, we visit a traditional Prague restaurant for a selection of typical main dishes. At the final stop, you’ll try some authentic pastries for dessert. Toggle Content
Why should you go on our Ultimate Prague Food Tour?
- Differs from typical “foodie” tours by focusing on what you’ll see on a typical Czech menu, not tourist-oriented or specialist food.
- Covers starters, mains, and Czech pastries for dessert.
- A beer, wine, or soft drink is included with the first two stops.
- Led by a licensed historical guide.
- Combines eating with history and cultural context
Prague is known for its beer, its stunning old architecture, and (for some people) its ice hockey prowess. It’s not so much known for food. This is exactly why so many people miss out majorly!
There are some ‘foodie’ Prague tours which are excellent, but our Ultimate Prague food tour is a little bit different. On this tour, we feed you the food that Czech people eat on a weekly basis. (We don’t literally feed you; we assume you can feed yourselves). You’ll get a range of starters to try, a range of main dishes, and a choice of Czech pastries for dessert. But not only are you eating a range of dishes, but you’re getting some of the history that comes with Czech food – because one of our licensed, historical guides is guiding you!
Many of us guides are Czech and have grown up adoring Czech comfort foods. Many of us other guides have lived here long enough to love the food that Prague has on offer.
Where do we go on the Prague food tour?
Good question. We specifically designed this tour around the Old Town. Yes, there are neighborhoods in Prague with fantastic restaurants, but we want to prove that it is possible to find authentic spots in the Old Town.
A lot of people find that the main streets in the Old Town are touristy and full of overpriced eateries. This can be true – you only need to glance at some of the beer prices on Old Town Square to realize this. But you can find some hidden (and some actually pretty well-known) gems. Here’s where we go:
1. Craft beer hangout
This spot is a true local favorite, and it’s a stone’s throw away from a major square in Prague, but so many tourists would never even walk there. Here, you’ll sample a beer (if you wish) AND a selection of Czech’s famous ‘beer snacks’. Czechs drink a lot of beer, as you may have noticed, and if you want to join in you should also not ignore the typical small plates served with beer to help you line your stomach.
In this spot, the beer snacks are high-quality and top-notch – we always order the most typical ones for you to try as your starter.
2. Old Town Czech Restaurant
We guides have come here so often that we consider some of the staff members friends. Only a few streets away from Charles Bridge, yet off the main path. If there was a ‘bestseller’ list of what the Czechs like to eat regularly, this restaurant offers everything on it. From svičkova to gulaš, after this Prague food tour you’ll not only know how to pronounce them but also how good they taste! You’ll also get a beer, wine or soft drink to wash it down with.
We can’t wait to introduce you to these Czech comfort foods.
3. Family-run bakery
We love this place because we arrive just at closing time and they always save us some of their best pastries.
There’s a special type of Czech baked good that is the best thing to eat if you’ve forgotten to each breakfast and need a sugary hit. Or if you want an afternoon pick-me-up. Or if you’re finishing a food tour and need a sweet end to a fantastic tour.
This establishment is Czech-owned and run, and still uses their grandparents’ recipe.
Between each stop, there’s about a 5-10 minute walk. We think this is the perfect amount of time to build up your appetite and get some entertaining historical commentary from your guide about the beautiful streets you’ll walk through.
The tour starts at our usual meeting point on Na Přikope and ends near Wenceslas Square.
What is Czech Food, Anyway?
Czech food doesn’t get the attention it deserves, which is exactly why a Prague food tour is such a revelation for most visitors.
Shaped by centuries of Central European influence, Czech cooking is built around slow-cooked meats, rich gravies, and knedlíky. These are soft, bread-like dumplings designed for one thing: soaking up sauce. The two dishes you’ll encounter most are svíčková (beef sirloin in a creamy sauce) and guláš, a stew that warms you from the inside out. Both are the definition of comfort food.
Then there’s the beer snack culture, the pastries, and the hidden gems that most tourists walk straight past. Our Prague food tour exists to make sure you don’t.
