FAQs

General Prague Walking Tour FAQs

1

What is a free tour?
There is no compulsory payment upfront for a free tour. At the end of the tour, your guide asks you to place a value on your experience, and you get to decide what you think is a fair price. This ensures your guide will always give you the best tour possible.

2

What forms of payment do we accept?
You can pay with card! We also accept Czech Crowns and Euros (although we ask you to refrain from Euro coins, as we cannot exchange them).

3

Will the weather affect the tour?
Our tours run in rain, wind, or shine. Please do come in adequate clothing, the tours are outside, and Prague can be very cold in winter and very hot in summer! If we have to cancel a tour in very exceptional extreme weather, we will let you know.

4

Are strollers, wheelchairs, or pets allowed on the tour?

Yes, everyone is welcome on the tours. Prague is not the easiest city for wheelchair users, but our guides will always help you where necessary. Please note that dogs on the castle tour are required to wear a muzzle at some points.

5

Can we join the tour after the start time?
Our guides will always remain at the meeting point for 5 minutes after the start time. After this, each guide takes a slightly different route and are not contactable during the tour. For this reason, we ask you to be at the meeting point on time or to please reschedule your tour for another time slot.

6

Why am I being charged for a free tour when I book for 9+ people?
The free walking tour concept is designed for small group bookings. For the sake of our guides, we ask groups of 9+ to either book a private tour or to join our free tour with an upfront payment. This payment can be viewed as the minimum spend to pay the guide. These rules are in place with all free tour companies.

Old Town Tour

No, the synagogues are part of the Jewish Museum, a paid area we cannot enter during the tour. If you want to visit, we are happy to explain how to get a ticket for after the tour.

Although you can technically see Prague Castle from many points on this tour, we do not go to the castle itself. This is the largest castle complex in the world, so it deserves the time and attention of its own tour!

Castle Tour

Yes, controllers often check tickets on trams. Don’t worry – tickets are very affordable, and we will help you purchase.

You can get the ticket from the app PID Litacka or at any metro station. For this trip, you only need a 30-minute ticket. If you cannot buy a ticket prior to the tour, please come to the meeting point early so the guide can explain it to you in person.

Yes, we will walk through the Prague Castle! You do not need to buy a ticket to access the castle complex.

The only buildings you need to pay for are the museums. The tour finishes close to these, so you can easily return and visit them afterwards.

Yes, everyone is welcome on the tours. For this tour, however, you will need to bring a muzzle for your dog, and you cannot enter the gardens or the cathedral. Don’t worry, you can still come on the tour, but you and your furry friend will just have to miss a couple of stops!

Prague is not the easiest city for wheelchair users, but our guides will always help you where necessary.

No, the areas we cover are free of charge. The only ticket you require for this tour is the public transport ticket.

This is currently under construction for the foreseeable future.

We usually do enter the first half of the cathedral (which is open to the public). However, this monument is sometimes closed to the public due to construction or ceremonies.
