This was my first walking tour, and it was a phenomenal experience. Mike, our tour guide, was an excellent story teller and an orator. In 2.5 hours he was able to explain, in great detail, numerous interesting historical facts across various popular tourist locations in Prague. The manner in which he engaged our tour group, kept us eagerly waiting for the next piece of historical facts. The entire tour was interesting, educational and enjoyable, and the 2.5 hours seemed to just breeze by in an instant.I would highly recommend this walking tour for any tourist who wants to visit Prague.

Absolutely fantastic tour, Mike was a brilliant guide. I was slightly nervous about 2.5 hours but I was fully engaged the whole time. My only regret is going on the last day of our trip, I recommend making it the first day of your trip because Mike had so many recommendations for places I'd love to have time to go visit.

We had two walking tours with Ian, old town and the castle. It was a great experience! He told us some very interesting historical facts without the boring part, with a touch of a great humor and not too much of walking.Highest recommendation! Great city to visit and a great walking tour experience!

We did the city tour, and tall Paul was our guide. His ability to connect and communicate with the entire group was a testimony to his character and knowledge. Although American, he is a university graduate of history, and it showed. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and the information imparted during our time with Paul.I would highly recommend you spare the time for a tour.

If you're visiting Prague and want a guide who is equal parts knowledgeable, engaging, and just plain fun, look no further than Mel! From the moment we met her, it was clear she had a deep love for this city—and after spending a day with her, we understand why.Mel took us through the Jewish Quarter, Old Town, and New Town, weaving history, humor, and fascinating insights into every stop. Her storytelling makes the past come alive, and her recommendations (for food, sights, and hidden gems) were absolutely spot-on. Plus, she has a super handy Prague website full of tips, so you’re never left wondering where to go next. And of course, no tour with Mel would be complete without hearing her favorite saying:"Prague never lets you go… this dear little mother has sharp claws." – Franz KafkaBy the end of the tour, we felt those "sharp claws" pulling us in too!Whether it’s your first time in Prague or your tenth, Mel is the guide you want. She doesn’t just show you the city—she makes you feel like you belong here. Highly recommend!📍 Check out her website: Mel’s Prague Guide

Would highly recommend the Prague Castle Tour - was so great getting to know the complex in a little bit deeper detail and figure out what we wanted to have a proper look at. It's a good way to avoid large crowds and also learn how to use public transport in Prague. Thank you to our amazing tour guide Anna! So entertaining and approachable, her passion for and love of Prague is contagious! Looking forward to potentially a tour of the Old Town next 🤩

We had the pleasure of joining the Castle tour and were not disappointed! Dylan brought the buildings to life with his anecdotes and stories. He positioned us in the best spot to watch the changing of the guards. Dylan's perfect mix of humour and a deep knowledge about Prague made the tour a highlight of our trip!

We did both tours with this company and had a great time. The old town tour is really comprehensive! 2h30 is a great amount of time and you have a break in the middle. Overall we weren’t too exhausted by the walking. There’s so much to unlock about each street in Prague so I strongly recommend doing a tour on your first or second day.We also did the castle tour which is good but a bit longer. Not much uphill since you get the metro to begin with and they use a good route to avoid big crowds. If you go on the 10:30 tour you get to see the changing of the guards which is cool.Paul and Jeremy our guides for the 2 tours were great!! They blended humour and history really effectively. Thanks for the great experiences.

This was a very interesting tour of the Prague Castle complex and did much more than focus on the more famous sites, with our guide visiting and describing many off-the-beaten-track places and stories. Jan F. was a great guide who was personable, intelligent and informative, plus conveying a strong and passionate personal side of his life in Prague. Definitely try to get a tour with Jan!

MEL is highly skilled at her trade of Prague tour guiding, showcasing the city’s rich history and providing a vast insight into Czech culture, always presented in an interesting and entertaining manner. We experienced both her Old Town/ Jewish Quarter and Prague Castle tours and have a far greater appreciation of all things Czech than that we could have achieved left to our own devices. Thanks Mel!

FAQs about this Prague free tour

There is no compulsory payment upfront for a free tour. At the end of the tour, your guide asks you to place a value on your experience, and you get to decide what you think is a fair price. This ensures your guide will always give you the best tour possible.

You can pay with card! We also accept Czech Crowns and Euros (although we ask you to refrain from Euro coins, as we are not able to exchange them).

Our tours run in rain, wind, or shine. If the tour is cancelled due to exceptional extreme weather, we will let you know. Please do come in adequate clothing, the tours are outside, and Prague can be very cold in winter and very hot in summer!

Yes, controllers often check tickets on trams. Don’t worry – tickets are very affordable, and we will help you purchase.

This is currently under construction for the foreseeable future.

We usually do enter the first half of the cathedral (which is open to the public). However, this monument is sometimes closed to the public due to construction or ceremonies.

Yes, everyone is welcome on the tours. For this tour, however, you will need to bring a muzzle for your dog, and you cannot enter the gardens or the cathedral. Don’t worry, you can still come on the tour, but you and your furry friend will just have to miss a couple of stops!

Prague is not the easiest city for wheelchair users, but our guides will always help you where necessary.

Our guides will always remain at the meeting point for 5 minutes after the start time. After this, each guide takes a slightly different route and are not contactable during the tour. For this reason, we ask you to be at the meeting point on time or to please reschedule your tour for another time slot.

The free walking tour concept is designed for small group bookings. For the sake of our guides, we ask groups of 9+ to either book a private tour or to join our free tour with an upfront payment. This payment can be viewed as the minimum spend to pay the guide.

These rules are in place with all free tour companies.

You can get the ticket from the app PID Litacka or at any metro station. For this trip, you only need a 30-minute ticket. If you cannot buy a ticket prior to the tour, please come to the meeting point early so the guide can explain it to you in person.

Yes, we will walk through the Prague Castle! You do not need to buy a ticket to access the castle complex.

The only buildings you need to pay for are the museums. The tour finishes close to these, so you can easily return and visit them afterwards.
